Every Tribe & Nation is broken down in a four-fold focus
Welcome and resettlement focuses on developing legal immigration clinics and support systems for the first 18 months of the immigrant-refugee journey. ETNI will include an emphasis on the front end of the immigration journey, starting with creating a warm and inclusive settlement process for our newest friends among us. It is not just about opening doors; it’s about building genuine relationships and fostering a sense of belonging from our long-established parishes to our newest church plants.
Network development focuses on the development of networks based on affinity, ethnicity, or language. ETNI will focus on connecting church leaders and communities across the continent based on their unique ethnicity and language. Already networks are underway for the Arabic-speaking Sundanese communities across the province, the East Africans, an emerging Asian network, along with the beautiful work taking place among our growing Hispanic community through the ministry of Cominemos Juntos. By developing strong, ETNI networks, we can share resources, ideas, and best practices along with support systems that facilitate cooperative ministry within the ACNA.
Leadership development describes the focus of leadership development within the context of ministry among the international community. Attention will be given to identifying and training both lay and clergy leadership to serve new multi-ethnic parishes. The development of theological education tracks for non-western clergy within the ACNA.
This focus describes support and training that assists parishes and planters to develop healthy multicultural planting models as well as identifying and sharing “best practices” through resources, such as podcasts, our website, and conferences. The focus will include addressing the challenges of planting multi-ethnic and transcultural churches with an emphasis on grounding our practices within an Anglican biblical theology.
